  • Dr Leah Williams Veazey

    Dr Leah Williams Veazey is the lead researcher on this project. She is an Australian Research Council Early Career Research Award Fellow, and is a Research Fellow at the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies at The University of Sydney.

    Dr Williams Veazey specialises in research around migration, care, health, motherhood and digital cultures. Her research uses qualitative methods, most commonly in-depth interviews, to explore contemporary social experiences, with a focus on the intersections of health, mobility and care.

    Her first book, Migrant Mothers in the Digital Age: Emotion and Belonging in Migrant Maternal Online Communities, was published by Routledge (2021). It was awarded the Raewyn Connell Prize for Best First Book in Australian Sociology by The Australian Sociological Association.

  • Dr Stephanie Raymond

    Dr Stephanie Raymond is the Centre Manager at the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies at The University of Sydney. Stephanie has a diverse professional background spanning health, communications and the social sciences, and she recently completed her PhD at The University of Queensland.

    The Networks of Care project is an integral part of the work of the Centre, and is one of the key projects of the Centre’s Research theme, Migration, Im/mobility and Care.

  • Siwen Liu, PhD researcher & Research Assistant

    We are delighted to welcome Siwen Liu to the Networks of Care team. Siwen is focusing on healthcare students, migration and care for her doctoral study. She will also be supporting the broader project in her Research Assistant role. Watch this space (e.g. Project Updates) for more information!

    Siwen Liu is a PhD candidate in the School of Social and Political Sciences at The University of Sydney. She is also part of the dynamic HDR research culture of the Sydney Centre for Healthy Societies.
